Life-saving vaccinations resume for Iraqi children
Eight weeks after the end of hostilities in Iraq, children are once again receiving life-saving immunisations against preventable diseases as the safe delivery and storage of vaccines is restored countrywide. Katherine Arie reports on the restoration of the country's national immunisation programme.

RedR: planning for the practicalities in Iraq
Registered Engineers for Disaster Relief (RedR) assigns engineers and other experts to aid agencies that need experienced staff. With a possible war in Iraq looming, John Howard, RedRs London-based assignments and membership manager, told Katherine Arie about preparations it is making and the likely reluctance of agencies in the region to rely on experts with U.S. or British citizenship.

Agencies fear consequences, but plan for war in Iraq
The main worry for relief agencies if there is a U.S.-led attack on Iraq is the prospect of fresh damage to the countrys infrastructure, already in tatters from sanctions and two decades of conflict, and how Iraqis will cope if water, electricity and food supplies are cut. NGOs in the northern, southern and central regions are planning for a new emergency, reports Ruth Gidley.
