Climate description
Arid to semiarid. Mild, wet winters with rainfall along the coast and the northern mountains and hot, dry summers. Rain in the rest of the country is blocked by the Sahara Atlas Mountains, making it much drier with cold winters and extremely hot summers. Algeria experiences dust and sand-laden winds called siroccos in the summer months.
